I’ve heard great things about Seven Seas Park, the new neighborhood park in Sunnyvale, and it lived up to my expectations! Nice, new equipment and palm trees throughout – I felt like I was on a playground resort!
There is a fully-gated toddler play structure with a sandbox.
And another toddler-friendly structure outside of the gate. Sam enjoyed “playing on the pirate ship.”
There are also swings and a splash pad, but the splash pad is not open yet (I was told possibly April). There are a few shade umbrellas, but the park is in direct sun otherwise. I would recommend sunscreen and hats, even in February! I did not come prepared and might be a little bit sunburned today… I guess it’s that time of year already! California is awesome!
Lots of fun things to explore and climb. Sam was entertained the entire 3 hours we were there and did not want to leave.
Cute musical elements were also found throughout, such as a wind-up drum pad under the pirate ship and chimes along a path next to the playgrounds.
The park also has bathrooms (and a changing table), a basketball court, a fenced-in dog area, tennis courts, a large grassy area, and a small parking lot. I’ve heard the parking lot can get full on busy days. We took the VTA bus taking the 54 there and walked along a nice walking path to the park; and took the 26 from very near the park home. It looks like it is also accessible via light rail (902) with a little longer of a walk.
Also, I recommend packing any food or drinks that you’ll need. It is a neighborhood park and not near many businesses.
